The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club is proud to announce that they will be organizing this year's "Taste of DeKalb". This food, beverage and entertainment event will directly follow the Corn Classic 10K and take place at Frank Van Buer Plaze in downtwon DeKalb. Local food vendors will be set up, some in food trucks, to provide some of the best food DeKalb has to offer. Local entertainment events will also be offered for everyone's enjoyment. There is no admission to the event!
The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club provides a $10,000 Community Grant for Children, Youth and Families of DeKalb County every year. Sponsorship dollars from the Taste of DeKalb will go towards supporting next year's grant. In 2017, the DeKalb County Community Gardens and the DeKalb County Youth Services Bureau were awarded the grant. In 2018, winners are the DeKalb Public Library, Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois and Hope Haven. It is the hope of the Kishwaukee club to grow their fundraising efforts and community grant levels in the future - so come support this event and play your part in this important work!
